This was a custom piece for Lzzy Hale of Halestorm.
I haven’t really come forward about it now, but back in April, after going to a concert featuring Halestorm, I met Lzzy at a meet and greet. She contacted me after I gave her a drawing, and wanted me to design something for her, saying that she was really inspired by my piece. (when she releases it I will too)
She is extremely nice, and easy to work with. When I was working she allowed complete artistic freedom, and was open and flexible to ideas. She’s an amazing woman. Also, she is the most fan friendly person I have ever seen when it comes to bands, and she gives nice hugs….just sayin’
Anyway, this piece I made based on a simple question I asked her, and came up with this. I did this for thanking her for the opportunity. She is my favorite vocalist, treated me with respect, and has allowed me to list her as one of my clients on my resume. Also attended their show (with Evanescence, my other favorite band/vocalist). This piece is probably the best I have ever created, and has left me with a fulfillment and confidence to enter the world of illustration with experience under my belt.
It’s 18” x 24” done with acrylic and pen on black stonehenge paper. The gold is really metallic in person, but scanners don’t deal with that -_-
